5616.0. "SNMP Traps and TRANSLAN" by EVTAI1::RENOUVEL () Thu Sep 23 1993 06:06
Hello ,
I have a several small questions to ask specialists like you ....
I have on the same LAN a VS3100 with DECmcc and a translan.
I would like the traps to arrive on my station.
I gave an IP address to the TRANSLAN and gave him the address of
the station too.
I built a SNMP entity with the name and IP address of the translan.
I built a Notification Request like this:
domain :LOCAL_NS.TRANSLAN
Entity : SNMP *
Arguments : coldstart,warmstart,linkup,linkdown,enterpriseSpecific,
IP Reachability Up,IP Reachability Down.
When I enable my Request I have a message like.
EVENT SINK is running but not communicating.
Which operation could I do to be sure that's everything's OK and
to see the notifications coming up to my DECmcc platform?
I thank you for your help.
Best regards.
Patrick.

This is an old problem (see note 4977) that never got solved.
1. Try to restart UCX (from note 4977)
2. In terminal window run MCC command line and enter
getevent snmp * any config event, for dur 99-0
then try to enable your notify request again (this worked for me).
3. Follow escalation procedure...
