We have some Apollo and HP systems that only implement MIB I. Trying to register them fails. It seems that the information requested during registration is not contained in MIB I . Am I right in saying that we need MIB II in order to register snmp entities properly ? Guido

No. The partial regstration is due to some other problem (eg node not reachable, internet name cannot be resolved from the host, some error was encountered during mib filtering). However, if the system is reachable, all commands should work fine even for partially registered entities. Rahul. |
