hi, seems to be no possible to disable a Phy port on a Decbridg620 (DAS) when you try , you received this kind of error message : %MCC-E-NOTFOUND unsupported combination of verb, entity, partition Nevertheless, this kind of action is totally supported on DAS station (FDDI Data link Functional Specification chapter Network Management) thanks for any comments Regards Jean-Yves

5598.1 | snmp is the answer ... | PRSSOS::BONNAFE | Guy BONNAFE - CSC France | Tue Sep 21 1993 03:49 | 16 |
I had it once. My guess is that ELM code ( and elms as well ) was written when only single attachment bridges were available and then disable/enable the line or the phy port had the same effect ... Maybe somebody can correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, there is an easy workaround ( thanks JYP ). Bridge's phy port states are manageable through snmp. So you just have to compile the fddi mib, set an IP address to the bridge and you'll be able to manage 'snmpFddiPORTAction' attribute. Guy. ps : la prochaine fois, changeons des mails. Nous gagnerons du temps ... ;-) |
