5509.0. "hdlc history info lost" by CTHQ::WOODCOCK () Thu Aug 19 1993 11:21
Greetings,
I'm trying to get stats from a node logical station thru historian and I am
getting errors. I do get some stats during the day but mostly not. There
appears to be no polling errors at all as shown going back 2-3 days. When
issueing the past time commands for counters instead of stats, I see only
data after 19:00 which explains why there are no stats. So what happened to the
counters before 19:0??
any ideas,
brad...

Whoops, thanks much SAm. Now for your next trick :) .
How come this command produces a keep age of 30 days and the next one for 14
hours? and what can I use for an absolute syntax for no mistakes? Do I have
to specify keep age = 14 00:00:00.00 ??
thanks,
brad...

BTW, this syntax worked for all three DECnet_IV recordings.

Brad,
The only difference I can see in this two command is that in the
second command you use "poll peroid".
>record node4 BBAK01 line SYN-1 part=characteristics,-
>keep age=30, in domain .RPT_1
>record node LKG.BBLKD1 hdlc link W622-4-0 -
>logical station W622-4-0 part=counters,-
>keep age=14, poll period=1:00, in domain .RPT_1

Could you, please, verify this?

5509.5 | diff=entity not poll period | CTHQ::WOODCOCK | | Fri Aug 27 1993 16:18 | 15 |
| SAm,
Actually when doing the NODE4 CIRCUIT and LINE RECORDs I use the POLL PERIOD
for the CIRCUIT **COUNTERS** only. For CIRCUIT CHAR and LINE CHAR no poll
period is specified yet they all ended up with a 30 day keep age. The real
difference is that the entity is a NODE child instead of a NODE4 child. I
also just did the RECORD for NODE LOGICAL STATION counters w/o poll period
and still got 14 hours. Wierd, I wouldn't have thought the entity type would
make a difference in a RECORD command. In any event the point is now moot for
me (maybe not for you though :) ), I specified keep age= 14 00:00:00 and it
seems to work for all entities.
best regards,
brad...
