5503.0. "PROBLEMS WITH SNMP COUNTERS" by DRAC::DSMAIL () Thu Aug 19 1993 05:22

	Hello;

	I am studing a network using DECmcc.

	I have a router CISCO with SNMP. I have customized an historial
	to get information about it performance. I notice that when the
	figures are not very big, the stadistic information is correct

		"Xmitd Octet + Rcvd Octet" = Total Octet

	but when the figures are bigger this is wrong, seem like if the counter
	of Total Octet, would has a maximun arround 43 E+06 , and after that
	it makes a reset and starts again, and I can't get real information
	from the counters.

	This are some dates from the CISCO:

                        *************************
                        CIEMGW_INTERFACE_SERIAL_3
                        *************************

		   Total          Rcvd           Xmitd

                   Octet          Octet          Octet          Octet Rate
