5462.0. "Export/bridge alarm?" by WARABI::CHIUANDREW () Wed Aug 11 1993 02:19

    HI,

    1) Export
    My customer started export backgrounder without any problem, then
    he exported entity via IMPM still o.k., but when he try to show
    exporting using FCL (SHOW EXPORT NODE4 abcd), he got NO EXPORT..
    But he can view the export entry via IMPM, is it a known problem?

    2) Alarm
    Using IMPM, he defines an alarm template (he selected LINE child entity of a
    bridge, statistical compression on Network utilization, Greater than
    15%...), then he create/enable a rule with that template applying on
    a bridge's child entity LINE, after he clicks on the LINE, the alarm
    process just 'crashed' without giving any dump (but the alarm batch
    queue is still running). I can applied an alarm template on node4 line
    without any problem (statistical comparsion on inbound utilization and
    apply it to node4 abc line sva-0), is it a known problem with Bridge?
    It does not work neither when I have statistical comparison on
    Multicast utilization>

    Could someone gie any comments.

	I think that your customer is using a full name for a NODE4 in the
    Show Export directive. The problem is that different parts of MCC
    interprets the full name differently. The release notes describes the way
    to avoid this problem:

        3.  Use of Phase4Name

            Using mixed case for Phase4Name is not supported. Use
            either all upper case or lower case.

        4. For Exporter directives to work correctly, any entity
            specified by fullname has to be entered exactly as it was
            registered.

5462.2Specifying Export Target???SPANKY::SAWYERThu Aug 12 1993 09:476
    In addition to .1, make sure that your customer is specifying the
    export target when using the FCL.

    mcc> show export node4 abcd export targ <dirname>:<filename>.rdb

    rcs
