5443.0. "Memory leak in bridge access module? V1.3" by CSC32::J_WIELAND () Thu Aug 05 1993 13:13
Dear Readers,
I have a customer running DECMCC V1.3 on ultrix 4.3. He has 8 bridges on his
network and has written a script to querry the bridges on a periodic basis.
In the script, he uses the FCL interface to issue the command
"show bridge bridge_name forward database dynamic entry * all attributes with
disposition=learn" (he then pipes this to awk for processing)
He does this three times a day for each of the 8 bridges.. (100's, 200's,
600's)
After running this for about a week, all of his 150mb swap space is gone.
To recover, he kills the bridge access module, and all the memory comes back.
If he doesn't kill the access module, the system will eventually hang..
Is this a memory leak problem with the bridge access module?
thanks in advance
