5329.0. "Display Notification problems" by SWTHOM::NOBRE (Jocelyne Nobre - CST France) Mon Jul 12 1993 12:12
PNM200 1.3 / VMS 5.5-2
I have some problems with the notification on the iconic map.
I have 2 reference entities : r1 and r2 .
I send events to these references through the data collector .
1/ on r1 reference only :
-------------------------
$ MCC_EVC_SEND supmcc my_collector "reference r1" "" "" minor decnet
$ MCC_EVC_SEND supmcc my_collector "reference r1" "" "" major decnet
After that , I have 2 notifications about "r1 reference" in my POLYCENTER
Notification window ,
BUT if
I select , on the map , r1 reference icon
then use 'Display Notifications' from the 'operation menu'
I see the last notification *****ONLY********
If I double-click on this notification to see the
'Detail Notifications Window' , "previous" choice is not possible.
Is it normal to not have all the notifications for a single entity ?
2/ on r1 and r2
---------------
I let my first notification display opened and I send a new event
on a reference entity named r2 :
$ MCC_EVC_SEND supmcc my_collector "reference r2" "" "" major decnet
When I select the entity r2 and use the 'display notification' from
the operation menu, the 2 notifications are then displayed, one
for r1 and one for r2. Why are the 2 notifications mixed in a
single window ?
note that if I close the first notification display window before
sending the event on the second reference entity , the second window
displays only notification about the second reference entity.
Is it a normal behaviour ?
Can you explain me how does the display notification work ?
3/ At this point ,if I send back an event to r1 reference entity ,
select it in the iconic map and use 'display notification' from
the operation menu ,
I crash the product with the following trace :
%CMA-F-EXCCOP, exception raised; VMS condition code follows
-SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=00, virtual address=00000030, PC

Thanks a lot for help,
Regard,
JOcelyne.
