I am looking for a TCP/IP reachability poller on VMS. This is to be incorporated into existing address management tool that currently tracks DECnet addresses. Any pointers to source code would be appreciated. Irina.

The IP poller can be enabled via the "Applications" pulldown menu of the map window. I suggest you use a poll period with several retries since Rahul has recently noticed problem with recieve buffer size. (A new image is being tested and will for inclusion in the MUP.) This works quite well for a busy network and polling 225+ entities: Poll period = 90 seconds Retries = 6 Timeout = 5 I get only one "drop" in about a thousand. Please do not bother Rahul for the new image. The MUP should be out soon and this is a good work around. Thanks, Dan | |||||

I think Irina actually wants the sources for the IP poller. I have already sent her a pointer. Rahul. |
