A customer want to add a scanned picture to the map backdrops. In the manual "POLYCENTER Framework and Applications - Use" page 3-32, the following statement is found, "Both vector and pixmap backdrops are supported." What is the format of pixmap? Is it a standard? Is it similar to bitmap (may be containing information about grey scale or color)? Is it supported by popular scanning software on the shelf? Thanks and regards, Dennis

X11 is one of the standard formats for bitmaps. The PAINT program for VMS will output X11 as one of it's output formats for example. There are conversion utilties that convert between various formats. s/rob |
