5263.0. "Link to keyword table " by EVTIS9::ROGGEBAND (While my guitar gently weeps) Fri Jun 25 1993 05:54

    Hello,

I encoutered the following problem when setting up a developper's
    dictionnary with PNM 200 1.3 toolkit :

After following the procedure described in the management module
development guide , mcc failed with an obscure message, something like:

keyword table : file or directory not found

Solution : copy (or set up a link) to

    /usr/mcc/mcc_system/mcc_fcl_keytbl.txt

I could not find this in the documentation.

    Regards,

    Philippe.

Because it's not IN the docs. Amazingly enough, this was pointed out to the PL
for the Toolkit when V1.2 was in FIELDTEST. I don't know why it wasn't fixed.

Let's not jump the gun too soon!

I just checked the V1.3 Toolkit reference manual. In Chapter 3, "DAP Error
Messages", The following error is described:

"DAP-F-NOKEYTBL No access to parser keyword file: xxxx, check existence,
     priviliges and protections.

DAP could not locate or access the file mcc_dap_keytbl.txt. On VMS, it
should be located in MCC_COMMON. On Ultrix, it should be located in
     MCC_SYS_LOCATION or /usr/mcc/mcc_system (if MCC_SYS_LOCATION is not
defined). If it cannot be found, contact you system manager to restore
the file from the installation kit. If found check that the file's
protection is set properly for you to read it."

Now I don't have a copy of the v1.3 MM Programming Guide handy, but I think
the soft link trick is described in there someplace in the Dictionary chapters.

Are you using V1.3 doc set? I remember that this error was cleaned up and
documented in this release. What was the exact text of the error message
  you received?

                                                                      - Jerry

P.S. Just protecting the reputation of past Toolkit PLs! ;)

    Jerry,

Please read my base note, you'll see I'm not jumping the gun :

o The problem is not with the DAP but with MCC
o The file not documented is not mcc_dap_keytbl.txt, it's
      mcc_fcl_keyblt.txt.

    Regards,

    Philippe.

Philippe:

I stand duly corrected -- my apologies!

Now if only I could get a raise so that I could afford a
decent pair of eye glasses!! ;)
