5230.0. "unable to graph stats" by WHTAIL::HUTCHINS () Mon Jun 21 1993 17:34
I have a customer with the following problem, I need to know if this a
known problem and is it being addresses or are we doing something
wrong or should we cld,spr or qar it???
DECmcc V1.3, has recorded data from all partitions of an SNMP entitiy
and an interface of interest. When he attempts to graph the
staticial data for the interface, he gets nothing, he can however
graph the counters. The Performanace Analyser documentation state,
page 2-7, states that for statistics all that needs to be recorded is
all attribute partitions for the interface.
The only failing function is the on-line graph, if the data is
displayed from the FCL to a file, it is available.
Graph can be kick started by alternately clicking on the 'STOP'/'Arrow'
icon, but results are unreliable.
Major problem, this was the approach to data gathering/analysis they
needed to use for some benchmarks. Customer is getting very upset
with DECmcc, higher level functions not working as documented.
Hardware configuration
4000 Model 60.
Thanks,
Bruce

| This is a known problem which has a CLD associated with it.

5230.2 | How will it be addressed? | WHTAIL::HUTCHINS | | Tue Jun 22 1993 09:34 | 12 |
| Verna,
By chance do you know the cld number and what that status is??? All I need is a
statement describing when it will be addressed (in the next release or with a patch
that's being developed....) and if the is any work around.... The customer is of
the frame of mind that he just needs to know when to expect resolution.
Also do you think it would help to log another cld or would it just confuse things??
Thanks for your quick response!!

| Bruce,
There are two CLDs that I am aware of that refer to problems displaying or
graphing snmp interface historical information.
CFS03942 - unable to graph past statistics for snmp interface
VB001214 - impossible to display statistics from historical data for snmp
interface subentities using Iconic Map
The status is that the problem has been identified and an engineer is about
to look at the associated code. Hopefully (but not guaranteed, at this point)
the problem will be fixed for the MUP.
There is no workaround in the Iconic Map. The information can be displayed
using the Command Line Interface.
Hope this helps,
Verna
