5207.0. "SNMP Alarm wildcarding" by ADO75A::BOUCHER () Wed Jun 16 1993 04:18

    Greetings.

    I am looking after a medium sized network (about 40 routers) with cisco
    boxes, being a combination of AGS, CGS, MGS, and IGS routers. I want
    to be able to set some rules up on the interfaces (all routers are in a
    common domain) which will, among other things, check for high
    utilization. I cannot create a statistical comparison rule using SNMP
    * INTERFACE *. What is the best way of doing this ? There are
    approximately 100 interfaces in use.

    Another question.. GETEVENT used to support the event list as ANY
    EVENTS, but does not seem to do it now. Am I doing something wrong, or
    has it changed ? If it has changed, why, and will it change back ?

    	MCC> GETEVENT SNMP * ANY EVENTS

    %MCC-W-NOMULTPARTEVENT, event IDs from multiple partitions are not
    supported

    Thanks for your help.

	Now SNMP AM supports both configuration and notification events (for
	the reachability events from the IP Poller).

	So you should say :

	MCC> GETEVENT SNMP * ANY CONFIGURATION EVENT

5207.2Thanks, how about the first part ?ADO75A::BOUCHERWed Jun 16 1993 19:428
    Rahul,

    Thanks for the answer. It is not stated that you have that option when
    using forms mode.

    Any ideas on the first question (wildcarding) ?

	Utilization is calculated by the PA FM and unfortunately, PA does
	not support child entity wildcarding.
