We have successfully tested a VAX4000/90 with dual Ethernet controllers receiving SNMP traps from two separate networks. +---+ |ip1| +---+ | 2.2.2.1 0--------+---------+--------0 | 2.2.2.2 +--------+ | mcc1x | |--------| VAXstation 4000/90 with two ip addresses. | mcc1 | +--------+ | 1.1.1.2 0-------+-----+-------------0 | 1.1.1.1 +---+ |ip2| +---+ We generated multiple traps from nodes ip1 and ip2 and MCC processed them very nicely. This required a modification to the MCC_TCPIP_SINK.EXE. The modification will be (I hope) included in the upcoming MUP or slightly thereafter. Thanks to the engineering team for their efforts. -Dan

5180.1 | would this work for manageing more than one net ? | HERON::PATEL_A | LoLo-AQIC-I82Q-B4IP, - LMF | Fri Jun 11 1993 04:36 | 8 |
Just a thought... The previous note is quit interesting. I'm not too familiar with OSI, PhaseV etc, but if the MCC system were a Phase V node then wouldn't this work for the requirement where one system needs to manage multiple networks IE the mcc system would be multi homed etc... Amrit |
