A customer has the following result using MCC (FCL) command about script entity : $ mana/ent DECmcc (V1.3.0) MCC> sho script tools disk * all char Script SUPMCC_NS:.tools disk d1 AT 9-JUN-1993 10:38:09 Characteristics Examination of attributes show: Command = "@mcc_scripts:mcc_disk supmcc$dka200: 0 noheader " Script SUPMCC_NS:.tools disk d2 AT 9-JUN-1993 10:38:11 Characteristics Examination of attributes show: Command = "@mcc_scripts:mcc_disk supmcc$dka300: 0 noheader" MCC> sho script tools disk * all status Script SUPMCC_NS:.tools disk * AT 9-JUN-1993 10:48:16 Status Examination of attributes show: Command Executed = "@mcc_scripts:mcc_disk supmcc$dka200: 0 noheader " Volume Name = "USERS" Errors = 0 Free Storage = 169461 Blocks Maximum Storage = 237588 Blocks Utilization = 28 Percent Device Type = "RZL2" MCC> WE HAVE ONLY THE FIRST INSTANCE ! Thanks in advance for any ideas , Regards JOcelyne. The customer uses one script for one disk because he has a lot of devices in his cluster and he does not want whole information given if he had for the disk child entity the attribute : Command Executed = "@mcc_scripts:mcc_disk * 0 noheader "

5171.1 | Using the wildcard for a script instance in the Show Status directive doesn't work | MOLAR::ROBERTS | Keith Roberts - Network Management Applications | Wed Jun 09 1993 10:38 | 44 |

We should have disabled this .. or figured out how to make it work! As a workaround, perhaps, in the mcc_disk script the "*" (wildcard) indicates that you want to see *ALL* disks on the system. You can specify a prefix for the disk name and only receive information on those disk: command = "@mcc_scripts:mcc_disk dk 0 noheader" which says I want to see all the DK type disks (scsi) which have greater-than-or-equal 0 percent utilization. You can specify ... DF for DFS mounted disks DU for RA type disks (RA82, RA90...) DI for RF type disks (RF71, RF31...) Could you also QAR this restriction (that Show Script .. * All Status) does not work as you would expect .. see note # 7 for information on using the QAR system. Thanks /keith |
