5155.0. "'Invalid Argument' when doing Target Directory" by CSOADM::ROTH (Light fuse and retire quickly) Mon Jun 07 1993 09:23

MCC V1.3-SSB
3100/76, 32 Mb,Local namespace

Trying to set up some targeting, have never used it before.

Get odd error try to add SNMP entity. Decide to merely do a 'Directory
Targets' function, get same error!! Looks like this:

        The argument value provided for the In Domain is not valid for
        this request.

                Qualifier with invalid argument: In Domain

Seems to do the same no matter what domain I am in. Do I have a corrupt
targets database file? Any ideas?

I will enter this in the QAR system also.

Thanks-

Lee

5155.2FCL works, iconic map doesn'tCSOADM::ROTHLight fuse and retire quicklyMon Jun 07 1993 16:199
I have discovered that I can create and get a directory of the targets
via the FCL interface. The error outlined in .0 occurs when trying
from the iconic map interface.

After successfully assigning targets via the FCL I tried to get a
directory via iconic map and got same error as in basenote.

5155.3what menu items are you using?MCC1::DITMARSPeteTue Jun 08 1993 12:168
Are you finding the "assign target" and "directory target"
menu options on your Map window's Operations menu entry?

They shouldn't be there (I think it's a bug if they're
showing up).

Try using the targeting UI from the notification
services windows (Applications->Notification).

Yes. If I am in a domain and pull down 'Operations' then I have 'Assign
Target','Deassign Target' and 'Directory Targets' available.

Yes, seems to now behave properly (but am having trouble with some SNMP
stuff... will post in another topic).

    Please QAR the fact that the targeting commands are showing up in your
    operations menu.

    thanks.
