5131.0. "Vaxstation 2000 display error" by GIDDAY::COOPER () Tue Jun 01 1993 03:21

A customer has MCC running on a Vaxstation 4000/90 without a problem.
He does a set host to this machine from a Vaxstation 2000, does the
set/display and then has some problems.

In the decterm window he uses to set host he gets the folowing messages:

X Toolkit Warning: Urm_RealizeColorTable: Couoldn't convert RGB color/pixel
'65535,0,32112' - MrmNOT_FOUND
X Toolkit Warning: Urm_RealizeColorTable: Couoldn't convert RGB color/pixel
'62992,60816,0' - MrmNOT_FOUND
X Toolkit Warning: Urm_RealizeColorTable: Couoldn't convert RGB color/pixel
'43692,43692,0' - MrmNOT_FOUND
X Toolkit Warning: Urm_RealizeColorTable: Couoldn't convert RGB color/pixel
'43692,43692,0' - MrmNOT_FOUND

This could be due to the graphics card he has in the VS2000 - may only be a
4 plane graphics card (16 colours). He is running xdpyinfo this evening to
confirm this.

He then receives a dialogue box on the VS2000 with the message:

	Unable to fetch widget !AD from MCC_UIL:MCC_ICONIC_MAP_PM.UID

Note: MCC_UIL points to MCC$COMMON and the uid file is there.

The display comes up o.k. but he is unable to get to the lock that allows him
access to the toolbox.

He has been able to set display to a couple of VLCs and it runs o.k.

Are the above messages related. If not what could be occurring.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,
Steve

5131.1Same problem here...KAOFS::BOIVINMoi, j'viens du nord!Thu Jun 17 1993 11:2612
I also have the same problem displaying to VS2000's (I've tried it on 3 or 4):

	Unable to fetch widget !AD from MCC_UIL:MCC_ICONIC_MAP_PM.UID

I'm running VMS V5.5-2 and MCC V1.3. The display is fine to VXT2000s.

Anybody have any ideas what to look for?

Thanks,

Ed
5131.2What I did to fix itGIDDAY::COOPERThu Aug 26 1993 21:5415
Hi,

Sorry this is a little belated, but I did find a reason and a fix for this
problem. I used a program in DECW$UTILS: called xdpyinfo and determined
that the graphics card in the workstation was a 4-plane card.

The customer had another system with an 8-plane graphics card he was able
to swap with and this solved the problem.

Looks like you need an 8-plane graphics card for MCC to work.

Hope this helps,
Steve
