I have opened this note more as a discussion one, if it should be posted
else where please advise.
I am getting lots of questions on Manager- Manager, and distribution
(distributed management) in general.
I would like to understand what is planned for distribution in the
future releases. Most of the clients I talk to who have seen the older
presentations of executing the MM's anywhere in the net are still
expecting that. However, I'm not too sure this is the right approach,
indeed I don't event know if it is whats being done.
Major concerns are backwards compatibility, transparency between VMS
and Ultrix managers, interface to other managers, use of SNMP V2
manager to manager etc..

| In general, engineering is not at liberty to discuss futures (or work
in progress) in an unrestricted notes conference.
Requests for specific functions can be communicated to product management
through the NOTED::EMF_REQ notes conference. Requests for information
should probably go directly to a product manager.
