IHello, I am wondering if anyone is aware of any mib extensions available for Ultrix that can be accessed by a generic network management station? Note: I am aware of the UDM product however it is my understanding that this product requires DECmcc (which the customer is not currently using). Basically, the customer would like to do UDM type tyings montior performance, disk utilization etc. Again, I am also aware of the common agent but that too is too high brow all they want it a simple extension to handle a hand full of additional functions (like SUN's) Thanks in advance for any and all help on this!! Peter

Information available from a system's "MIB" must be returned by an SNMP agent on that system. For ULTRIX, there is the default SNMP agent (no extensions), and there is the common agent, which you can extend yourself. Otherwise, in general, you have to write a custom agent (this is one of the reasons for the existance of the common agent). -- Erik |
