Dear readers, Can you explain the difference between the Polycenter Framework package and the Polycenter Network Management 200 package? In particular, does one contain the ability for autotopology mapping and the other one does not. Finally, when topology maps are drawn, is there any feature to automatically draw the lines between the systems? Thanks In advance... John Wieland Ultrix/Network Support Colorado Springs, Colorado.

POLYCENTER Framework (PF) doesn't have AutoTopology. POLYCENTER Network Manager 200 (PNM200), built on PF, has DECnet IV and TCP/IP AutoTopology. POLYCENTER Network Manager 400, built on PF/PNM200, adds Bridge Spanning Tree and FDDI Ring AutoTopology. Autotopology can be added to PF via the AutoConfig/Topology Option (DECnet IV and TCP/IP) and ELM AM/FM Option (STM and FDDI Ring Map). >Finally, when topology maps are drawn, is there any feature to automatically >draw the lines between the systems? Yes. Chris | |||||
