5088.0. "Many upgrade woes -sectblful- enrollment" by SMAC10::DAVIES () Tue May 18 1993 19:11

I have just upgraded a customers Enterprise management station from EMS
V2.1 to 2.3. For the MCC users this involves V1.1 to V1.3 upgrade.
The installation has left me with a number of problems which I am
having difficulty resolving. I would appreciate any hints or tips
    people can give me.

First of all the session menu is modified so that the customer pulls
down the DECMCC menu item and selects MCC_ICONS. This opens up a
fileview window to run the iconic map. This has worked for over two
years without any problem but after the upgrade now provides a problem
    on startup:-

The first message is [ i Notification is unavailable. Please check that
    Notification FM is enrolled.]
The next thing to happen is another fileview window is opened which
    contains the following messages:-

%Debug-W-Sectblful, section table (process/global) is full
    %Lib-E- Actimage error activating image
    GHQV03$dka100:[sys0.syscommom][syslib]dns$share
-system-w-Sectblful, Section table (process/global) is full

Ive tried upping global sections, global pages , procsectcnt all to no
avail. I've checked the suggested process quotas and sysgen parameters
such that I know most of them by heart! But still no joy!

Ok so it didnt work to well with Fileview. So I tried man/ent/int=dec
from decterm window. Everything start up ok but when I click on a
bridge icon I get the following messages.

[ i One or more global entities is deregistered. Unable to display
    them]

[ i The show identifiers operation is not supported for bridge "blah
line * ". The supporting MM may not be enrolled.]

So I enroll the bridge am and everything is ok. However everytime I
restart MCC I seem to need to enroll certain modules. I havent checked
every entity yet but have also needed to enroll the phase 4 module for
example. I thought that having enrolled a module once there should be
no need to do it again.

Ive run the BMS IVP, and associate IVP for Translan, ELM and TSAM
    and all are OK.

Just to complete the problem statement I am also having a problem
enabling alarms from a batch job. This again has worked for the last
two years but now alarms in the iconic map can only be enabled by
selecting them and enabling them in every domain manually.

I would appreciate any words of wisdom in sorting any one of these out.
I see note 5079 also talks about the sectblful problem. This is in
fact the same problem input by some at the local CSC on my behalf.
