MCC v1.2-3 with DNS v1.1a

Has anyone seen a problem similar to this ? .......
Alarm Rules appear to be set up correctly and actually fires up Mail
to the relevant account with a Notification of Alarm / Exception .
(The exceptions are due to SNMP 'mcc-s-specialized_exc,success with
management module-specific exception reply but this isnt our problem)
Even though the Mail is sent the Icon Colour-change does *not* appear
on the Iconic map at all ,either at Node or Domain level..The alarm
rules point to the right node in the correct domain etc.(I can provide
alarm rule char if required.)
I've checked with the user that he has done a NOTIFY DOMAIN enable
and also a SALIENCE enable from The iconic map
Can anyone provide an additional pointer as to what we can check
