I have a rule that periodically generates the following exception: Software logic error detected %MCC-E-NOPARAMLIST, no parameter list was supplied in this ILV buffer The rule is: (Node4 * circuit * substate <> none ......) The rule does work because whenever I have a circuit down, the rule fires and generates the alarm. But I'm just curious about this exception. I usually get 2 during each polling interval, which is 15 minutes. The documentation only says to contact my digital representative. I guess that's this notes file. There is also something else I'd like to report and I'm not so sure the two are not related at all. Take a look at the list below. Why are there so many links in a CLOSED state? Actually, "contact your digital representitive" should probably translate to "please file a QAR". See note 7. Please include information on the product software version, as well as operating system version. -- Erik

George, I'm not sure what is happening to your links but we've also had a problem. Our links weren't closed, they were being aborted. We have since changed our expression because we were getting a couple exceptions each poll interval. I suspect it had something to do with timeouts and the amount of time and data which is returned by doing a full wildcard on the circuits (read: ethernet). So our expression is now exp=(node4 * circuit syn-* substate <>none, at...) The side affect of doing this was that we had to remove all our systems from the domains because they don't have one of these circuits. We created a seperate domain and put all the load hosts in it using a different expression. This might not help in the long run but it could get you going for a while. just a thought, brad...
5066.3 | QAR'd (#252), Rewrote rule, excep. continue | USOPS::HARB | Tue May 18 1993 10:36 | 11
Thanks for the suggestion Brad. It has helped a bit. I don't get as many exceptions as before. But they still do occur. Any other ideas? I have about 150 circuits that the rule checks, could this be causing the problem? I've QAR'd this problem, #252. George |
