Hi, I have a query about statistics calculation on X25 routers, namely demsa's. If you look at the node level utilization against a router with an ethernet circuit and a couple of DLM's. On some of the nodes the packet rate and lost packet % numbers and way off. A router with an ethernet circuit and 2 DLM's the packet rate is as large as 2.34E+07 with a lost packet % of 0. Now to me that looks completely wrong. I've tried it locally and its seems to produce reasonable results. But then i've only tried it against one box. The version of Decmcc is V1.2.3, does anyone have any ideas. Bipin.

Hi there, - we have seen the same problem here with DECmcc V1.3 , the packet rate results returned by 'show node4 xxx all statistic' are SOMETIMES completely wrong against what we can calculate from the several circuit counters. - by the way, when looking at circuit level statistics, DLM's that have never been state on ( all counters 0 ) return intermittently the error message: Counter creation time was not returned. the X25router2000 is running V1.1 BL7. I would suggest entering a QAR, so that this doesn't get lost. (see note 7) Notes are sometimes misplaced, as you can see by the date of the original question. -- Erik |
