5018.0. "MCC entities on map but not in domain" by NEURON::BERBRICK (Bob Berbrick * Networks Instructor * Co. Springs) Thu May 06 1993 19:50

    Hi--

I am using POLYCENTER V1.3 on VMS V5.5-2 and seem to be having an odd
problem. I open domain CX in which I have my node (himipc) registered as
a NODE4. I use the Toolbox to also add himipc as a MCC entity. I save
the map, I can click on the himipc MCC icon and look into it, select
various entities and show characteristics, all is well.

I open another domain and work there for a while and then come back and
open domain CX. The CX map window comes up but I get the message
"Enitiy found in map but not in domain" and the MCC icon for himipc is
not in the window. I added the MCC himipc entity to the map again and
then did a member search to see what domain POLYCENTER that MCC himipc
was a member of and it returned a ... not found in any domains ...
message. It finds finds node4 himipc in domain CX with no problems. I
have no idea what's going on here and I could find nothing in the
documentation indicating that the MCC was different from any other
entity that you add to a map.

Any ideas, folks?? They would be appreciated!!

5018.2Deregistered entity or deleted entity from DomainCUJO::HILLDan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer ResidentThu May 27 1993 18:3714
    Bob,

The only ways I have found to generate this error message follow:

    	1. Deregister the entity (which removes it from all domains)
without saving a copy of the map that "excludes" the entity.

    	2. Delete an entity from a domain without saving a copy of the
    	   map that "excludes" the entity.

    	3. Having a corrupted domain that does not adequately "see"
the entity that is in the map.
