4990.0. "ACCESS VIOLATION USING THE PA FM" by DRAC::DSMAIL () Mon May 03 1993 08:04
Hello;
I have a client who just upgraded from EMS 2.0 to EMS 2.2.
Installation seem be all right, because he doesn't get any
error, but when the installation arrives to IVP, and it
execute
TEST MCC 0 PA
he receives the next error:
DECmcc (V1.2.1)
$SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation reason mask=04,
virtual address = 00000001, PC=00494f17, PSL=03c00000
....................................................
....................................................
The folloging command failed
"MANAGE/ENTERPRISE TEST MCC 0 PA, TO FILE =MCCBMS$OUT.TXT"
DECMCC BMS V1.2.2 Installation Failed
%MCC-F-FAILED , fatal DECmcc error
...........................................................
and exit from VMSINSTAL.
He gets the same if he execute the command from FCL of Icon Map,
and if he use any command which makes use of the FM PA (like show
statistics).
We have reboot, and reinstal and always have the same error.
We have check the MEMORY and GLOBAL PAGES, and we have enough
free space.
The VMS version is 5.4-2.
The VAX and the others aplicactions in the computer, don't have
any error.
Is this a bug ?
Anyone have seem the same problem ?
Thanks;
Javier.

4990.1 | I have not heard this one before | MOLAR::ROBERTS | Keith Roberts - Network Management Applications | Tue May 04 1993 12:57 | 11 |
| The PA test directive is pretty simple .. as most other MM's test directives.
The 'Test Successful' is returned with vitually no other processing done.
I do not believe this is a problem with the PA test directive .. but can't
figure out what the problem could be.
Could you do the following and post the output here ?
dir/size/date sys$share:mcc_pa_fm.exe
thanks,
/keith
