4948.0. "Third Party prods ?'s" by SSRHQ::MICALI () Fri Apr 23 1993 16:55

    Is there a list (or pointer) to the supported third party products
    (such as CISCO Routers, etc....) that interface to DECmcc?

    If not, who is the 3rd party manager for DECmcc?

    	Thanks, Joe Micali

4948.1what kind supported 3rd parties?KAJUN::NELSONFri Apr 23 1993 17:5928
What do you mean by supported third party products?

There is a list of MIBs that we ship with POLYCenter Network Manager in
the release notes. We ship about 200 MIBs.

I believe that some application launch definition files are also shipped
with the kit to launch element management applications like Synoptics
LattiViews, etc. I may be wrong about that because we initially just
talked about providing the definition files to the vendors and having
THEM provide the files on their kits.

TEC has written an AM that manages their NETPOD.

The TBG group in Valbonne has written TeMIP for managment in telecom
environments.

There is a note somewhere in this conference that lists all the vendors
and what kind agreement we have with them. It should be entitled
"Strategic Vendor Program Status" or some such.

There is no 3rd-party manager for DECmcc. The POLYCenter Framework is
providing a platform for more than just network management now. Carol
Palmer is responsible for all of NSM 3rd-party relationships. Her group
has divided up responsibility by `activity'. There is Network
Management, Configuration and Administration, System Management, etc.
You might want to contact her in ZKO.
