4914.0. "SNMP Problems, again" by ADO75A::BOUCHER () Tue Apr 20 1993 07:37
Hi there,
I recently upgraded from V1.2.3 to V1.3.0 and am having some problems.
I did the uprade and went and recompiled the MIB's (cisco and
synoptics), but when I view into a cisco router from the IMPM I do not
see the cisco MIB. If I do a list of valid commands from the FCL
(forms mode) I see all the MIB's as valid choices (cisco, synoptics,
exp_rmon, rmon).
Whilst on MIB's, does anyone know a source of Novell MIB's that will
compile into DECmcc ? I was given some Novell MIB's from Novell's NSM,
and under V1.2.3 I was able to compile one of the three (MIBII.MIB
worked, but NXPPLUS.MIB and NW2SNMP.MIB came baack with syntax errors
during the compile), but under V1.3.0 not even MIBII.MIB works. It
fails almost straight away with the error "parent object mib_2 not
found". Has anyone had any luck, or have a better set of MIB's ?
Reggards,
/Reece Boucher

After loading the Cisco mib you need to re-register the cisco router.
If the cisco child entity still does not show up on the map, then
you can register the child entity through the ToolBox.
Regarding your second question. The problem you are facing is that
you are trying to load MIB II into DECmcc when MIB II is pre-loaded
in the dictionary. There are people in this notes conference already
using the Novell mib with the SNMP AM. You might want to locate the
relevant notes and contact their authors.
