Hi,
We had a SUN sending events to my MCC Ultrix T1.3.1
equipped DECstation 5000/240 with the event collector am.
Then, I rebooted my ultrix workstation and with
DECNET transport we got a timeout doing mcc_evc_send
and with UDPIP a "cannot access" type of error message.
We figured out it was because the sinks were not started
we restarted the sinks and it worked.
My concern is :
It will arrive on operational sites
1- cannot we do like we did for alarm rules (auto enable...)
2- A workaround is to add something in rc.local maybe
to restart automatically the sinks after a reboot.
WHERE (in what file) and WHAT must be added to automatically restart
the sink ?
Thanks in advance
Catherine

We had trouble starting the collection sink automatically in rc.local
we only tried a simple script though called direct from rc.local and
this seemed to fail, it may have been because other startup jobs were
still running from rc.local.
You could try doing it at the end or with a pause to let other things
start, or by submitting a job to cron to start say 15 minutes after
boot.
