4890.0. "Another Internal error/partial registration." by PLUNDR::LOWEG (You don't want to do it like that!!) Thu Apr 15 1993 10:58

    How do I fix this...

    Ultrix 4.3 DECmcc V1.3

When I register a node4 via the iconic map I am getting "Internal error
in DECnet Phase IV AM" as a reason for partial registration.

This is happening for every node4 I try to add.

If I try to register a node4 I get the following results.

MCC> register node4 timbo syn timbo

    Node4 LOCAL_NS:.timbo
    AT 1993-06-13-13:48:12.242I-----

Partial registration success. Please retry later to complete the
registration. Reason for Partial Registration = Access control
    information invalid at Node
    MCC>

If I do a sho node I get the following

    MCC> sho node4 timbo
    Using default ALL IDENTIFIERS

    Node4 timbo
    AT 1993-06-13-13:49:23.242I----- Identifiers

Internal error in DECnet Phase IV AM.
                                  MCC Error = %NONAME-E-NOMSG, message
                                  number 00000072
    MCC>

The node I am trying to add are all known to the MCC host which is
TIMBO. I have read other notes reporting similar or same error messages
but can't seem to extract an answer from the information in them..

Gary, I've seen something similar when I was on site, is there a guest
    account on my system? ;-)

I have just checked it and your presumption is right no guest account.
I can only presume that when my colleague Tim Moran re installed the
product he forgot to re add this guest account.

So the moral of the story is that if you come up with the same error
messages in .0 check to see wether your guest account exist..

    Thanks for your quick reply..
