Hi, I have a customer that is trying to use targeting to flag entities that have been downline loaded via an automatic service request. She is monitoring the node4 that supplies the downline load by using NODE4 <name> CIRCUIT <name> Automatic Service. She doesn't have any way to specify the target entity as the entity that was downline loaded. She can't even write a specific target for this entity because there is no way to specify the loaded entity inthe Event Source, Events Name or Managed Object fields of the notify request and Assign Target windows. Any suggestions? Thanks, Walt

use an alarm rule to listen for the event, then parse the contents of the event in the alarm fired procedure and (if necessary) use the data collector to fire an event at the correct target entity. |
