Subject:  POLYCENTER Common Agent T1.1.0 kits for DEC OSF/1 and RISC/ULTRIX are now available.

The Enterprise Management Framework Group is proud to announce the 
availablity of the Common Agent External Field Test kits:

	ECOT110 - POLYCENTER Common Agent Base Kit for DEC OSF/1 AXP T1.1.0
	EDOT110 - POLYCENTER Common Agent Developer's Toolkit for DEC OSF/1 AXP T1.1.0

	ECMT110 - POLYCENTER Common Agent Base Kit for RISC/ULTRIX T1.1.0
	EDMT110 - POLYCENTER Common Agent Developer's Toolkit for RISC/ULTRIX T1.1.0

The notes conference (NOTED::COMMON-AGENT) provides a forum
for further discussion of the product set.

        The goals of V1.1 are to provide full SNMP management of MIB-2 objects
	on DEC OSF/1 AXP and RISC/ULTRIX platforms.

	The changes since V1.0 include:
	o Provide full SNMP trap capababilities and services.
	o Remove the V1.0 product dependency on DCE services (rpc).
	o Port the product set from the RISC/ULTRIX platform to
		the DEC OSF/1 AXP plaform.

The Common Agent documentation is available as PostScript files
in the following location on the EasyNet.

You may copy the kits by 
          dcp -iv beacon::~ftp/<filename> .

or use anonymous FTP to beacon.lkg.dec.com (16.20.144.65)

The prequisite software is 
	DEC OSF/1 V1.2+ with Basic Networking Services (Network-Server/Communications)
				(OSFCLINET120)

	ULTRIX 4.2 or 4.3 with TCP/IP Networking Utilities (UDTINET420) and
		           Internationalization Runtime Env.(UDTINTLRT420)

The tar files should be unpacked with "tar -xvf <filename>" command, and
then installed with "setld -l ."

To obtain a POLYCENTER Common Agent PAK:

	Send mail to PPINC::CAOSF_PAK (for OSF/1 paks)
	Send mail to PPINC::CA_PAKS (for ULTRIX paks)

The mail MUST contain the following:

	Name of user:
	Node name:
	CPU:
	Cost center:
	destination of PAK:

		Sample Message:

		Name of user:  John Public
		Node name: Took
		CPU: VS4000
		Cost center: 39t
		destination of PAK: Internal to DEC

Any problems with this product should be reported to our QAR
