Has anyone ever successfully written an Alarms Fired .COM procedure to automatically dial a remote number from the system on which they are running? Doug McPherson and I (i.e., Doug) fooled with this some time ago but never did get it working successfully. The customer wants to dial a pager number using a Hayes compatible modem when certain events occur. He wants to do it as easy as possible from a standard DCL procedure without dumping big bucks into a DECalert or other appls. Any ideas? Merlin

I recommend this tool highly. Have had very good luck over the years using it. It is available as an Assets tool. You can write 'script' files to interact with stuff on the other end as well. Conference is on UFP::MODEM. Press KP7 to add it to your notebook. Lee |
