We are currently trying to migrate one of mcc hosts from a VAX ft310 to a VAX 4300. They've done the system backups and dumped them onto the new system(same system name). Mcc startup up fine, but it doesn't know about anything(domain, entities). The disk name did change and we change the mcc logical file. Still no information. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dave

Would you please elaborate on "doesn't know about anything" ? I.e. post some of the error text that you see. You may also want to check file ownerships, protections and any logicals pointing to the ethernet interface or hardware-specific devices. /doug | |||||

I found the problem. We use local MIR's to register all of our entities. I was comparing one of our host to the other and found two extra files in the sys$specific:[mcc] directory. they are MCC_DNS_ATT.DAT;1 and MCC_DNS_ENT.DAT;1(or were I should say). I temporarily renamed them and our mcc station came back. Thanks for the response. Dave |
