Hi all, I have a customer who wants to buy DECmcc/Ultrix, but he needs Terminal Server Management. He has Ultrix systems only ! He has a lot of DS200, DS250, DS300 and he will get a lot of LATprint's. What's our strategy (if we have one) for such kind of customer. Any plans to port TSAM to ULTRIX ? In what time frame ? Ciao, Manfred

4780.1 | I think no TSAM under ULTRIX | ZUR01::SCHNEIDERR | Wed Mar 31 1993 02:28 | 14
Manfred, There were a big discussion about this problem in an earlier note (maybe half a year ago). I don't know the situation today. Then it sounded like there will be no TSAM under ULTRIX, because the TSAM uses callable TSM and there is no TSM under ULTRIX. B.t.w. then it sounded that TSAM will die under VMS, too (some kind of engineering problems). But maybe we do have an other strategie today --> Hello world:"Do we have?" Roland

The POLYCENTER SNMP Manager (aka MSU) has a terminal server option on it. Bringing it over to the ULTRIX Framework and launching it should be possible, but I haven't of anyone that has tried it. Unless the terminal server group commits to the TSAM, it indeed will go away. bill |
