Is it possible to export to an RDB database residing on a different node via DECnet? If this is not possible can the reports package be installed on a different node than the one running MCC? I have two customers currently with Rdb databases on their application cluster and don't wish to by DECgraph, Datatrieve, CDD just for MCC when they currently have these products on their cluster. Thanks, Scott

Currently the sample reports on VMS does not need to be run from within MCC. Since reports are basically command files and datatrieve queries, it doesn't matter where the logical MCC_REPORTS_FILES points, so you can move the files to wherever you wish. As for exporting to an RDB database on a different node. I can't answer that, but you can specify the export target to be in the format of disk:[directory]name so it might be possible. You will have to either give it a try or see if someone else can answer your question. - Darrell |
