I'am looking for a way to find how DECmcc gets its names when you save a specific map. we want to generate maps automatically and we need to know we can get the UID number and I thing a mix of date and time. Can I use a mcc_call to get that kind of information ? thank you francois

Names take either of two formats. Those that are taged with the UID of the Domain (forget it), and those that are based on the name of the domain (the way to go...) A few examples... MCC_MIDWEST.MCC_MAP MCC_CHICAGO.MCC_MAP MCC_RND_LAB.MCC_MAP You get the idea..... If you create the map with the second (name) format, and then modify it in MCC and save it, it will be converted to the UID format name, and the original map will be left alone. | |||||

Thank you very much for your quick answer. Is it possible to know how the autoconfiguration packages is doing theirs backdrop map (phase IV or IP). I know that there is some configurations file that an image is using to generate the maps file. I need to know the format of the configuration file and the definition of each field. this will save us a lot of time if we can resuse something that DEC did for MCC. any help will be appreciate Best regards, Francois |
