| Check the DECMCC-ELM-AM-V license.
I had exactly the same problem. The license has expired. After I
update the license and ran the MCC_STARTUP_ELM_AM ENROLL, all was ok.

| Try the suggestion in .1. You can get a new PAK from VTX.
If that doesn't work mail the installation log to QUIVER::HAROKOPUS.
The section you posted looks ok. The ELM AM kit comes with
the Alarms and PA FMs. This is for Director customers. If
you have BMS then you already have these components so the
ELM install procedure is simply telling you that it doesn't
reinstall them because they are already there.

4744.4 | Same Problem ... | MAIL::CLAYTON | Merlin Clayton DTN 445-7217 | Fri Mar 26 1993 13:07 | 17 |
| My customer is having exactly the same problem as described in .0.
The first time he tries to install ELM, indeed his temporary ELM license
had expired. He got a new temporary ELM PAK (until his permanent license
arrives), installed the new PAK, and reinstalled ELM AM, that's when he
received the "UNSUPPORTED COMBINATION OF VERB/ENTITY..." error message
during the IVP.
During the first installation I think he just got a message indicating that
the license had expired, the error above did not occur.
Can someone help me get this fixed for the customer?
Thanks.

4744.5 | A few things to look at | QUIVER::HAROKOPUS | | Fri Mar 26 1993 13:49 | 42 |
| Hi Merlin,
It's tough to tell what's going on without seeing your customer's
installation log. Is there any way you could send it to me?
Here are a couple of things to check on the customer's system:
1) Make sure that the dictionary got updated properly:
$manage/tool/dict (mcc_dap on ULTRIX)
DAP>show class bridge
DAP>show class concentrator
DAP>show class fddi-station
If they aren't there then it's possible that not all of the MCC
processes were stopped when DAP was running during the installation.
All MCC processes must be stopped during the ELM installation.
2) If this is VMS make sure that there aren't any old versions
of dispatch tables, parse tables or dictionaries in the MCC_SPECIFIC
directory.
3) If 1 and 2 are ok then try re-enrolling the ELM AM modules:
on VMS:
$@sys$startup:mcc_startup_epm_am.com enroll
on ULTRIX
%manage
mcc>enroll mcc_bridge_am
mcc>enroll mcc_concentrator_am
mcc>enroll mcc_fddi_am
Let me know how it goes,
Bob

4744.6 | Problem Fixed | MAIL::CLAYTON | Merlin Clayton DTN 445-7217 | Wed Mar 31 1993 16:48 | 8 |
| It was an expired license problem.
The customer had to unload the expired license and reload the new license.
Upon doing this he was able to enroll the ELM AM and run the IVP successfully.
Thanks.
