I have got a customer that installed BMS 1.2.3 and then wanted to install ELMS 1.2. The ELMS installation generates the following error: DECMCC VERSION MISMATCH... Is the KITINSTAL messed up? There is more... When he attempts to install the TERMINAL SERVER AM 1.0.0 the following error is generated: %SYSTEM-F-IVLOGNAM, Invalid log name /,/ When he attempts to install MCCTCPIPDA 1.2, the following error is generated: %MCCTCPIPDA-D-DECMCC TCPDAMCCREQ, DECMCC is required... What is going on here? Are all these KITINSTALL issues?

4651.1 | Install the EMS kit instead | TOOK::R_SPENCE | Nets don't fail me now... | Tue Mar 09 1993 14:29 | 7 |
Yup. Lots of kitinstall problems. The workaround is to install the EMS kit and select the parts you want. The KITINSTAL files on the EMS kit were fixed up but the individual products were not re-released, only BMS was re-released. s/rob | |||||

What Rob says is correct. The actual expalnation may help a little more: The 1.2 ELM kit will replace pieces of the 1.2 BMS kit. This is where all of your problems are starting. Rob's solution will work if you have the space to install EMS, otherwise drop me a mail message and we can discuss off-line. Joe |
