Hi all!
I'm going to define the environment for two VAXstations dedicated to network
management. One of those will act as e developer machine, the other one as an
operator machine. The intention is to keep one machine dedicated to the
operator and the other one for implementing new alarms, adding entities, ...
Once the developer machine is ready and stable, all the data will be reversed
on the operator machine.
I'd like to have some inputs on:
1. How can I obtain the copy from the developer machine on the operator
machine. Could DNS (No DECnet Phase V nodes involved) help me on that?
2. Whic is the alternative to DNS?
Another wishing is to have a DB (Rdb) where to keep centralized information
about all the entities, such that should be possible to load DECmcc as well as
to handle other information (like faults registration).
The user should use a DECform based application to access the DataBase.
Has anyone been involved in such an IMPORT of data?
Any automatic procedure available?
