4641.0. "P4 relayed events" by ROM01::PROFETI (Livia EIS Rome) Fri Mar 05 1993 07:49

    That could be a silly question becouse it's possible I've not read the
    doc as well as I should ...

    The question is about P4relaied events on P5 node (MCC T.1.3).

    What is necessary to notify P4 events ?

    I've enabled the RELAY function on NCL (MONITOR type), and now
    I can receive my P4 events on the P5 node OPCOM, but I can't receive
    the events on the MCC.

    A second question is if it's possible to enable the DNA5 evl at the
    startup time instaed of with an interactive command. I have no found a
    DNA5 EVL startup command file (DNA4 EVL style).

    Thanks,
    Livia

4641.1need local stream to the EVLTOOK::PURRETTAFri Mar 05 1993 10:2212
To receive phase4 relayed events you need to create a local outbound stream
to the MCC_EVL_SINK on the node running DECmcc. When your phase4 node
sends events to the phaseV system, it gets fielded by the phaseV Event
Dispatcher. The event dispatcher will then send the event down the
outbound stream which is set up to communicate with the MCC_EVL_SINK.

If your phaseV node is Ultrix, there is a bug with the Event Dispatcher
such that you must set the Sink Address to get it to relay the event.
Normally you'd be setting the Sink Node and Sink End User Name fields.
I don't know if this problem has been fixed yet.

Note 4301.12 has more info on setting up an outbound stream.
4641.2I can't receive PhaseIV events from MCCROM01::SPERATIMon Mar 08 1993 05:216
    I have created a local outbound stream to the MCC_EVL_SINK and I have
    created one notification for a node4, but I can't receive the events
    from this node on the MCC.
    The only PhaseIV events that I can receive are those generated by a
    local sink independent from MCC.
    Many thanks, Paolo

    How did you set up the environment? Have you enabled the sink in
    MCC? Can you post a log of a Show command of the outbound stream
    all Status and All Characteristics?
