4578.0. "support of DB 90 and DS 90L+ ?" by MARS03::THOMAS () Fri Feb 19 1993 12:19

	I tried to register a DECbridge 90 and a DECserver 90 L+ (in a DECHUB90)
with DECMCC BMS V1.2 + ELM (A.M. + F.M.) + TS A.M.

	I received "PARTIAL REGISTRATION" message for both and

	* "Cannot communicate with target" for the DB 90,
	* "No corresponding entity instance" for the DS 90 L+.

	I succeeded in registering these 2 options as ETHERNET station.

	My questions are:

	1) Are these 2 options supported by current DECMCC products ?

	2) if yes, why did i get this message ?

	3) If no, when will they be supported ?

	Thanks for the answers.

	Regards,

	Bernard

4578.1No to the DS90L+TOOK::CASSIDYLinda, LKG2-2/BB10, DTN 226-7270Fri Feb 19 1993 15:264
The TS AM does not currently support the DS90L+, and there is no work going on
to provide that support right now.

4578.2DB 90 not offically supported but...QUIVER::HAROKOPUSFri Feb 19 1993 17:438
    The DB 90 is not offically supported by the Bridge AM. However,
    if the DB 90 has the RBMS agent then most of the operations will
    work.

    If you can't even register it then I suspect that you need to
    upgrade your bridge to firmware version 3.0.

4578.3FPROM V3.1 is available for DECBridge 90CUJO::HILLDan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer ResidentThu Feb 25 1993 00:498
    You should use the latest version, Flash PROM V3.1. You can, in fact,
    register a DB90 via the bridge AM. Contact the CSC for a location of
    the firmware.

    The firmware is easy to load. Use NCP to store the info the way you
    would a terminal server, then trigger the bridge.

4578.4Who and where in the CSC ?MARS03::THOMASFri Mar 05 1993 04:116

4578.5Just log a call to the CSC...CUJO::HILLDan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer ResidentThu Mar 11 1993 14:1510
    I'm sorry, but I have misplaced the name of the engineer back east who
    has the patch.

    Please log a call to the CSC (1-800-525-7104) and request hardware
    support for DS90L+. Ask for V3.1a of FPROM (or later version if they
    have it.)

    You should be routed to the proper person.

4578.6Still no hope for DS90L+ and TSAM?COMBAT::FORSBERGTue May 18 1993 11:217
    A question to Linda in .1 (or anyone who has the information):
    Still no plans in providing support for the DS90L+ in TSAM? Should we
    tell the customers to go for SNMP and DECagent 90 instead?

    Thanks,
    		Annika
4578.7Try product managementTOOK::MINTZErik Pavlik MintzWed May 19 1993 12:4810
For future plans, you are likely to get a better response from product
management than from engineering (especially in a notes conference).

For terminal server futures, I would suggest contacting

JONATHAN (MEMIT::) LEWANDOWSKI

For TSAM specific questions, you can also try

    Thanks, I'll do that!

4578.9DECserver 90L+ supported in TSAM V1.0.3CUJO::HILLDan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer ResidentThu May 27 1993 19:284
    Minimal support is available since TSAM is "faked out" to see the 90L+
    as a 90L.
