Hi,
I have to change the decnet node name of my DECmcc station.
I suppose that deregistering the entity and registering it
again with the new name will not be enough.Is there somebody
who knows the right way to proceed? At this moment this station
is completely setup with rules,notification,exporting,recording...

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4574.1 | try RENAME | KAJUN::NELSON | Fri Feb 19 1993 10:28 | 4 | |
Read up on the RENAME directive in the documentation. This should work for you. ...kjn | |||||
| 4574.2 | fullename and synonym | GOSTE::CALLANDER | Mon Mar 15 1993 17:35 | 7 | |
but...keep in mind that renaming the entity in the configuration
database will not fix it in the rules and other locations in the
system. Note that if your rules and such all reference the entity
using its registered name, than you can deregister and reregister
it using the same name but the new synonym so you pick up the new
decnet name without impacting your rules.
