I've installed DECmcc v1.2.3 on an DECstation 5000-240 running Ultrix
v4.3. Starting MCC on the station works perfect. But if I start MCC
from a remote station VS4060 I get some weird problems with my display
on the VS. Some icons on the map are drawed ok and others are
containing parts of icons that are next to them. When I click on those
icons the icon is displayed ok but another icon on the map is displayed
wrong. I've done several tests with other window applications but I
couldn't reproduce the problem. Do I need to change some parameters on
the DECstation?

Geert,
I'm a little confused about your setup. You are running MCC on a
VAXstation 4060 and displaying the Iconic Map on the same machine when
you have problems, right? The problems are that some of your icons are only
partially there, right? What's the configuration of your VAXstation?
Version of VMS, DECwindows, do you have any graphic accelerators
installed, what kind of monitor do you have??

I think I need to give some more info.
I have a Ultrix DECstation which runs DECmcc v1.2.3 for Ultrix. When I
work on the station itself everything works ok.
I also have a Vaxstation running VMS, Motif v1.1 and I use this station
to display the Ultrix mcc-maps (so the Vaxstation is a windows client).
1. Telnet to the Ultrix station
2. setenv DISPLAY 'vaxstation name'
3. mcc_iconic_map&
Working this way I get the icons of my entities who randomely are
displayed in a wrong way.

| 4556.3 | V1.2 ->> Motif Window Manager | TOOK::BMURRAY | Bob Murray | Fri Feb 19 1993 10:24 | 14 |
Geert,
OK, I got it now. I have heard there are problems with
displaying the XUI version (V1.2 the Old DECwindows) Iconic map to a
machine running the Motif Window Manager. Theoretically it's supposed
to work but I have heard of others having this problem when mixing and
matching. I thought it was release noted but I'm not positive. You
could upgrade your DECstation to DECmcc V1.3 or you'll have to display
the stuff to a VAXstation with the XUI window manager running.
