4544.0. "version of CMA is incompatible with mcc" by BRSTR1::MERTENS (yves) Mon Feb 15 1993 08:45

   Hey,

In the release notes on page 2-14 they handle a problem about DECMCC and
DECthreads interoperabilty on VMS . This is just the problem I have now.
We installed v5,5-2 of VMS on a system which is running DECMCC V1.3 (last field test
release). When I try to startup decmcc I receive the message
%mcc-e-wrong cma, current version of cma is incompatible with DECMCC.

The curent version of CMA$OPEN_RTL.exe is V01-442 which is not supported with
DECMCC V1.3.DECmcc T1.3 is only supported with CMA v1.10-030.

Can somebody help me to make it compatible again ..

  Regards

   Yves

4544.1Re-install CMA from DECmcc kitTOOK::MINTZErik MintzMon Feb 15 1993 10:305
If you didn't save a copy of the CMA RTL files before doing the VMS
upgrade, then you will have to retrieve the CMA files from the DECmcc kit.

4544.2Procedure to extract the CMA images from the VMS V1.3 DECmcc kitTEMTY::L_GROSSMANMon Feb 15 1993 11:108

Enter backup/select=cma*.exe <kit_loc>:MCCBMS013.C/SAVE []

This will extract the four cma images into the current directory.
You can then copy them into SYS$COMMON:[SYSLIB] (or extract them
directly there). Just make sure that they are the latest VMS
versions and that there are none in SYS$SPECIFIC:[SYSLIB].
