4528.0. "notifications lost " by TLSE01::SELLES (Pierre-Jean - Toulouse -France) Thu Feb 11 1993 11:24
hello
i have a similar problem than miss Lunt in note 3836 ; as there are
no explanatory reply or correction , i will describe the problem :
after starting and playing with decmcc 1.2.3 on Ultrix 4.2 and
Motif 1.1.3 , the notification service seems to stop , that is we dont get
any more notifications , even if the alarm service is still working ;
( we are sure it is working by issuing a >show domain xxx rule * all
attributes --> show that all pollings are ok and that some rules are major
or minor ... )
the problem seems related to "pausing" the screen and opening it
again ; some times , we find a window with the message "
mcc-e-event_get_deleted Notification routine error "
the workaround we have found is to disable/enable notification
from the menu .
is there a patch to motif or decmcc to be able to pause a station
and still have notifications ?
thanks for your help
Pierre-jean

| The Motif developers are aware of this problem (serveral other development
groups have reported that it breaks their applications as well).
However, there is no patch available yet.
