Quick question on the ELM AM and DECNIS With a network of DECNIS configured as bridges (over the WAN as well as the LAN) will the autopology feature in ELMS AM build a network map as it would for LB100/LB150/LB200 etc? Another related question I guess is what protocol is used to discover the topology - DEC CMIP or the bridge protocol used in ELMS, or is it picked up from the 802.1 STP messages? Thanks Tim

ELM will not manage the DECnis. ELM only manages RBMS devices. DECnis is a CMIP device. Therfore, DECnis devices will not be autodiscovered by the STM FM. Bridge autodiscovery is done using the MOP protocol. However, the listener filters out everything except RBMS bridges. Regards, -Bob | |||||
