When autotopology is doing Spanning Tree map, TSM is not usable. This problem is reported by a customer. I have not used autotopology and hence have not seen the problem. I recall that DECelms and TSM had inter- operability problem whereby if DECelms listener process was running it took out exclusive lock on the protocol used by TSM . Does the Spanning Tree Map functional module do the same ? if not, what can cause TSM to be unusable ? Regards, Andrew

I'm not that familiar with TSM, but if it is using MOP then you will not be able to use while the STM Listener is running. Tell your customer to stop the STM Listener and see if that fixes the problem. Incidently, the STM listener is used to find bridge and thus does not need to be run continuously. It fact, the only time you need to run it is when you want to update the spanning tree map. -Bob |
