4488.0. "impm and alarms startup?" by GIDDAY::DRANSFIELD (Mike Dransfield, Sydney RSSG) Wed Feb 03 1993 00:15

I have a couple of things I would like to do with the IMPM which I
    don't know how to do.....
    Any suggestions?

    1) I want a simple way to enable all alarms in all domains.
Something on the applications menu, or a single command would be nice.

    2) I would like the notifcation services to be automatically started
    up.

I think both of these (and other) things could be achieved if there was
some kind of initialization script ala FCL.

    thanks,
    Mike

I guess the usual RTFM and do a dir/tit=notifi is called for.

    < 1)
      TRY MCC> ENABLE DOMAIN * RULE *

    > 2)

To keep it short and sweet, follow these steps

    	- open your notificatoion window
    	- i forget which option it is but pock around and find out how to
save your settings and save them
    	- this should put mcc*noti*.dat in your login directory
    	- edit it, search for wopen and change its value from 0 to 1.

    BTW:

notification is by default out of box always automatically started.
You must have turned it off if it isn't there now.

The customize functions in the notification window give you the
ability to save size/location and set if the window is automatically
displayed (starting notif by default and displaying the window are
    considered two seperate things).

    re: .1,.2
    thanks for the suggestions.
I got the notification window opened at startup, but I want to
start the alarms from the IMPM. I know that I can start the alarms from
the FCL, but I still don't know how to execute the command
enable domain * rule * from the IMPM. Running it from the FCL doesn't
enable the alarms in the IMPM and therefore the counters etc aren't
    available.....
    thanks,
    Mike

Bill,

I am not sure if I understand your question/problem, but if you have not
changed your customizations, initially the Map Window Options dialog box
has notification enabled. If that is not the case, change it from disable
to enable and save the settings. Alternatively, if you just want to enable
rules for a particular domain, open the domain, then go to File Menu and
select Notify Domain menu entry and Enable it. To see what rules are associated
with the open domain, go to the Rule View (MB3 Rule View). To make sure the
rules are enabled,

select all rules (Edit Menu Select All)
disable all rules (Operations Menu Disable)
enable all rules (Operations Menu Enable)

Hope this helps.

4488.5Automatic Alarm enabled at startupMQOSWS::F_MONETTEMontreal Sales SupportThu Mar 25 1993 10:4114
Is there a way to enable all the alarms from IMPM at
startup without doing select all and enable commands.

I know that I can do it from FCL but no counters can
be verify after from the IMPM ( very not nice at all). Is
IT a bug or this is normal.

Is it also possible to disable the rule view from IMPM
to disable operator to go there (this is a production) ?

Thank you

Francois
