Hi, According to the replies posted around my previous note (4386.0), I had understood that "In V1.3 the DNA5 EVL can field and process both phaseV *and* phaseIV relayed events so you (we) could then move your (our) MCC environment over to the phaseV system" - cf 4386.4 - ie DECmcc/BMS V1.3 on ULTRIX V4.3 DECnet/OSI for ULTRIX V5.1 (Extended Function, with DNS V2.0 Server) having the possibilities to receive Phase IV & Phase V events via DECnet/OSI Access Module EVENT Logger EVL (probably after changing syntax of rules & requests...). Nevertheless, the last T1.3.1 DECmcc/BMS release notes contain the following paragraph, Page 3-18, Section 3.9 : "The DNA5 EVL does not currently support DECnet phaseIV relayed events. If you wish to field DECnet phaseIV events in DECmcc you must run the DECnet phaseIV EVL. Note that the DNA4 EVL only runs on a DECnet phaseIV system. So to receive both phaseIV and phaseV events in DECmcc, you should run DECmcc on one of the phaseIV nodes, and run both the DNA4 and DNA5 EVLs." Is anyone able to explain the meaning of this paragraph ? Is it a temporary configuration ? Will my final expected platform be a possible configuration ? Thank you for your help. Regards, Renato

The release note comment should have been removed as of T1.3.1. That was an oversite on my part. The DNA5 EVL does indeed support phaseIV relayed events as of T1.3.1. John | |||||
